6th May 2003 Windsurfing: Tarifa Wind Direction: W (Poniente) Wind Stength: 4-5 Surf / Sea State: WAVES! Air Temperature: 22 Sea Temperature: 16 Weather: Sol Max Speed: Distance Covered: I¥ve never been out in waves before... and days after moaning the Poniente hasn¥t been more than a f3 in 6 weeks, it came through today... The shore break was intimidating, but I made it. I guess (as an amateur) that you¥d say they were logo-high waves... It was the first time in my life I¥ve windsurfed UPHILL! It was fan-flippin-tastic :-) Art one point I did a HUGE high-jump. Shame it wasn¥t on purpose! A pity that the wind was a little bit up & down, and that I can¥t gybe. Came in after an hour absolutely exhausted & elated, and determined to get good so I can wavesail properly. Later on went to collect my friend Andy from Gibraltar airport with the immortal line "Och, you should have been here yesterday...!" |
